Playing With the Band – Full Description

  • Play in a Band – work with a professional musician as a mentor
  • Past instructors have been Matthew Nord, Josh Farmer, Jesse Christian &  Valley Lopez. 
  • Matthew will be lead instructor for the upcoming session.
  • Band members must have previous experience on their instrument, preferably 1-2 years of private lessons. 
  • For ages 12 and up – Intermediate-Advanced Level (some exceptions made based on skill and maturity)
    • Bands are formed with youth of similar ages and abilities.  
  • Summer Session 2020 – Special Session – Recording Only/No Performance 
    • This will be a unique session, usually the sessions culminate in a community performance. This session will be focused on groups learning and recording original songs.  Due to Covid and safety concerns there will not be a performance at the end of the session but the youth will have a finished recording of 1 -3 songs and get to keep the finished recordings.  River City Roots Festival (our standard summer venue) has been canceled this year due to Covid-19.
