Playing With the Band

Playing With the Band (PWTB)  – began in 2008 and is an ongoing program of Tangled Tones Music Studio.  The goal of the program is to meet individuals where they are on their instrument and help them play in a group setting.  The styles and genres explored by the groups depend on the participants.  The program offers a unique experience to learn to communicate and work as a band with the leadership of a skilled professional musician!

Fall/Winter – 2024:

  • Next PWTB session: October 7 – December 31, 2024
  • Learn to play your instrument in a band setting, work with a professional musician/instructor, meet other musicians, learn covers, write original music and learn how to use your gear effectively and perform a live show to end the session!!
  • Session Performance Will Be: Tuesday December 31st , 2024 – 3:00pm-4:00pm
    • As part of Missoula on Main (Formerly First Night Missoula)
    • Venue: The ZACC 
  • This program is for intermediate to advanced musicians, ages 12 & up.  2 year minimum requirement of private lessons or pass skills test in audition to be admitted.  
  • Rehearsal Schedule
    • Day & Time Options:
    • Monday 4:30pm-6:00pm – “Rhythmos” – this band has room for bass, keyboard and auxillerary instruments 
    • Wednesdays – 6:00pm-7:30pm  “Band #2” – Band enrollment is open. See audition registration process below.
      • Rate Information & Session Details:

      • Cost: $190/month – can be paid up front for 3 months and receive a $10 discount
      • Session Registration Fee: $100 paid with first months payment.

      • Payment can be made via: Venmo – @matthew-nord-2 (please put in memo PWTB 2024), Check, Cash or Card (3.0% credit finance fee added to card transactions)

“Rhythmos” will take the Stage on New Years Eve – December 31, 2022 at 3:00pm-4:00pm at the ZACC Main Performance Room. They are part of Playing With the Band, a program of Tangled Tones Music Studio, check out the link for details on the program and the upcoming session. River City Roots Festival – Caras Park Main Stage

Performances By:

Playing With the Band (PWTB) began in 2008 and is an ongoing program of the studio in collaboration with Club Shmed Studios and Ryan “Shmedly” Maynes.

  • Play in a Band – work with a professional musician as a mentor
  • Record in a professional recording studio, 2-3 songs
  • Perform a community performance, live on stage!!
  • Sessions run Sept. – Dec. & Jan. – May.
  • Next session starts September -2011!
  • Auditions for Fall 2011 are being held on Wednesday September 7th – 6pm-7:30pm – Call or email for an audition. Rates & registration below.
